2013 Marlborough Heritage Festival
MARLBOROUGH, MA - The Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 18th Annual Marlborough Heritage Festival on Sunday, October 6, from 10 am to 3 pm, downtown Main Street, Marlborough, MA. The Festival celebrates the City’s rich heritage and cultural traditions, and is a day of fun for the entire family. General admission and parking are free. Click here for "Reserve the Date" Flyer.

About the Festival

The Festival offers a day of ethnic entertainment and food, cultural displays, martial arts demonstrations, crafts, live music, and much more. There are also many activities for children, including face painting, balloon animals, and a special story hour. To accommodate visitors, Main Street will be blocked to motor vehicle traffic from Florence Street to Bolton Street. Exhibits and facilities are wheelchair accessible. The popular Chili & Chowder Challenge returns this year with local restaurants and caterers battling it out to win top honors by a panel of judges and participating visitors. It begins at 12:30 pm and those wishing to taste and vote for their favorites can purchase tickets for $3 per person. Click here for lists of past years winners. Runners and spectators can arrive early for the Main Street Mile road race. The race is being held before the festival and starts at 9:45 am at the corner of Broad and Lincoln Streets. Click here to download the Main Street Mile Application Form.

Marlborough, MA --  Mayor Arthur Vigeant and Susanne Morreale Leeber, President & CEO, of the Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce will present Clifford Avey, Jr. with the 2013 Marlborough Heritage Hero at the Mayor’s Conference Room, City Hall, Marlborough, Wednesday, October 2nd. at 2:00pm.
 
Clifford Avey served as Marlborough City Treasurer for 22 years. He then served as manager for St. Mary’s Credit Union from 1981 – 1992. He still serves as a director for St. Mary’s Credit Union today.
 
Cliff also is on the Marlborough Historical Society and the Board of Olde Marlborough. He is a longtime Marlborough Resident and has volunteered for numerous community events and organizations.
 
We are proud to honor Clifford Avey, Jr. as the 2013 Heritage Hero.
